What is my username/password?
If you are a member of the NVFC, your login credentials are the same username and password that you use to log in to the NVFC site.
If you are not a member of the NVFC and do not currently have a Virtual Classroom account, you can create an account here.
If you have forgotten your login credentials or need assistance with your login information, please contact us here and select Virtual Classroom in the subject line.
How do I update my contact information?
You can update your account by logging into the Virtual Classroom and click on your Profile. Note: your Virtual Classroom account credentials (username/password) are the same as your NVFC Member account.
What is the difference between a course and a webinar?
NVFC courses simulate an educational topic presented in an online, classroom environment. Online courses are divided into modules, lessons, or units. You’ll be required to view/download course resources and take a quiz to complete the course. You can obtain continuing education units from certain NVFC courses.
NVFC webinars (web-based seminars) are hosted live online with an audience and often involve a Q&A section for interaction with participants. NVFC offers a monthly series of free, live webinars for the fire and emergency services. You can register for upcoming webinars at here. Anyone with a Virtual Classroom account (member or nonmember) can view past, recorded webinar sessions through the Virtual Classroom at no charge.
Do I have to be a member of the NVFC to take courses through the Virtual Classroom?
You do not have to be an NVFC member to access the Virtual Classroom. Nonmembers pay $21 per course.
Members access all courses for free. You can join the NVFC for only $21 a year to take advantage of the free course member benefit, so for the price of just one course, you’ll get all courses for free!
How to I access my transcript?
You can view/print your transcript by going to your Dashboard and then selecting Transcript/Achievement. If you have obtained CEUs through Columbia Southern University for your course, you can add those credits to your existing NVFC Virtual Classroom transcript by selecting “Add Additional Credits/Experience.”
What is the difference between my catalog, my cart, and my dashboard?
Your catalog shows all courses that are available to take through the NVFC Virtual Classroom.
Your cart shows you which courses you would like to purchase if you are not a member of the NVFC. All trainings are free for NVFC members and will be automatically added to your Dashboard when you click on 'Register.'
Your dashboard shows which courses you have registered for and are currently waiting for you to complete.
I am a member. Why is it charging me for a course?
Your Virtual Classroom account credentials (username/password) are the same as your NVFC Member account. If you are not logged in with your NVFC member credentials, you will not be recognized as a member and will be charged per course.
Will I always have access to the course I register for?
You will have access to the registered course for 120 days. You will receive email reminders that the course will expire 45 days and 7 days before the expiration. If the course expires before you are able to complete it, you will need to register again.
