Instructor Training on Placards, Labels, and Markings

This course focuses on being able to quickly and correctly identify the meaning of hazmat placards, labels, and markings. Attendees will learn how to teach others the difference between placards, labels, and markings, and the various requirements with their use. The course will also cover how to teach the basics of the hazmat communications standard and global harmonization system for hazmat. Specific concepts will include the U.S. Department of Transportation hazard classes NFPA 704 marking system.

Objectives: In this course, you will:

  • learn how to teach the different between Placards, Labels, and Markings.
  • become familiar with and able to teach the various requirements regarding the use of Placards, Labels, and Markings.
  • learn to teach the basics of the Haz Com Standard.
  • learn to  to explain and teach about the “Global Harmonization System” for hazardous materials.
  • learn to teach the core concepts of the U.S. D.O.T. hazard classes.
  • learn to teach the core concepts of the NFPA 704 marking system.
