John K. Murphy, J.D. M.S, PA-C, EFO, is a career firefighter beginning his fire service as a Firefighter/Paramedic and retiring as a Deputy Fire Chief after 32 years of service.  Mr. Murphy is an attorney licensed in Washington State focusing on fire services issues, liabilities and risk reduction and assisting members of the community with their legal needs. He is a consultant, national lecturer, educator, author and legal columnist. He is also a blogger and member of Fire Service Court Blog Talk Radio Show with Fire Engineering and a keynote speaker. He is also a National Fire Academy (NFA) Instructor and Associate Professor at the University of Florida’s Fire and Emergency Services program.
