Chief G. Keith Bryant

G. Keith Bryant was sworn in as the U.S. Fire Administrator on Aug. 4, 2017. Prior to his presidential appointment, he was the chief of the Oklahoma City Fire Department (OCFD).

He joined the OCFD in 1982 after serving as a U.S. Army firefighter/crash rescue specialist for four years. He also served a short time with the Edmond Fire Department in Edmond, Oklahoma.
During his 35 years with the OCFD, Administrator Bryant was a member of the Underwater Rescue and Recovery Team, Hazardous Materials Response Team, and the Critical Incident Stress Management Team. He also responded to many significant incidents, including the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in 1995, as well as two EF-5 tornados in 1999 and 2013.
Bryant moved up through the ranks of the department, serving in many roles, including district/battalion chief, chief training officer, battalion chief of operations, and deputy chief of operations. He was appointed the 20th fire chief of the OCFD in 2005 by the city manager.
He is a past president of the International Association of Fire Chiefs, the Metropolitan Fire Chiefs Association, and the Oklahoma Fire Chiefs Association (OFCA). He currently serves on the National Fallen Firefighters Advisory Committee.
Bryant was recognized with many awards throughout his fire service career. The Metropolitan Fire Chiefs Association designated him as the 2014 Fire Chief of the Year, and he received their 2016 President’s Award of Distinction. The OFCA selected him as the recipient of the 2010 J. Ray Pence Chief Officer Leadership Award, and he received the OCFD Chief Officer of the Year Award in 2001.

John F. Koerner

MPH, CIH

Mr. Koerner is CBRNE Advisor in the Office of the HHS Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR) for matters related to National medical preparedness and response to CBRNE incidents.  In that role, John leads the development of innovative, evidence-based interventions and guidance to support the Nation’s medical and public health response to catastrophic disasters and terrorist incidents.  He is broadly published and an internationally recognized expert in medical preparedness and response to radiation and other CBRNE incidents. He is a combat veteran and serves as Board Member and Triage Chief during medical missions for a charitable organization. John received his Master’s Degree in Public Health from the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health and is a Board Certified Industrial Hygienist.  He has spent more than two decades operating, researching, and advising in the field of medical and public health response to terrorism.

Captain Joselito Ignacio

CAPT Joselito Ignacio is a U.S. Public Health Service Officer currently serving at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)/Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) as the Chemical, Biological, Radiological/Nuclear Science Advisor and Program Manager for the Interagency Modeling and Atmospheric Assessment Center (IMAAC) since December 2014.  He previously served as the Deputy Program Director for Chemical Defense at DHS/Office of Health Affairs (OHA) from June 2010 to December 2014.  From November 2000 to June 2010, CAPT Ignacio detailed to the U.S. Coast Guard in an Environmental Health and Industrial Hygiene officer capacity at the former Coast Guard Maintenance and Logistics Command Pacific (MLCPAC) and at Coast Guard Headquarters (CG-1133).  

CAPT Ignacio has a Master in Arts in Security Studies at the Naval Postgraduate School in 2011, a Master in Public Health from UCLA in 1991, and a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology with a Chemistry Minor from California State Polytechnic University Pomona (Cal Poly Pomona) in 1989.  
CAPT Ignacio is a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and a Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS).
CAPT Ignacio served extensively in AIHA leadership positions to include Board of Directors from 2017 thru 2019; Chair of the AIHA Incident Preparedness and Response Working Group; and Chair of the Real-Time Detection Systems Technical Committee.  He has co-edited the 2nd and 3rd editions of the Strategies for Assessing Occupational Exposures textbook, and written the first edition of the Incident Safety and Health Management Handbook.
