Webinar - Science to the Street: Research-Based Public Education and Firefighter Training

Join UL’s Fire Safety Research Institute (FSRI) for this free webinar focused on FSRI’s education and training resources for fire departments. Senior content specialist Jennifer Williams will discuss FSRI’s Close Before You Doze and Smoke Alarm Friendship Stories public fire safety programs and share ways to spread the word in your community. Instructional design manager Angela Bennett will then walk participants through the FSRI Fire Safety Academy and how to freely access FSRI’s cutting edge, practical fire service training aimed at helping firefighters stay safe while more effectively protecting people and property.

Jennifer Williams is the Senior Content Specialist for UL's Fire Safety Research Institute (FSRI). She supports the FSRI team and partners to amplify reach and engage with key stakeholders to increase firefighter knowledge and reduce injuries and deaths in the fire service and the communities they serve. She is an 14-year veteran of the fire service with most of her service at the Lewes Fire Department in Lewes, Delaware. She received her Associates Degree in Fire Science: Arson Investigation from Montgomery College and is currently working towards her Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing through the University of Maryland University College. Before joining FSRI, Jennifer worked as the Public Relations Specialist for the Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute, University of Maryland and has worked on numerous safety initiatives over the years.
